What Kinds of the Pipe Adapter Are Commonly Used?

Clamp - sleeve adapter

Hydraulic adapter fittings are used for steel pipe fittings, mainly in the hydraulic and pneumatic fields. Clamp - sleeve adapter have a strict installation process, vibration and pressure - impact resistance. The joint connection can be disassembled and assembled several times.

When assembling a sleeve joint, the two edges inside the sleeve are pressed into the steel tube to form a mechanical bearing. When the second edge begins to be pressed, the first edge has already been pressed into the steel tube. After assembly, the third part is pushed by steel pipe and nut to ensure that no vibration is transmitted to the edge, and the fourth part ensures radial movement. The sleeve structure forms a powerful axial radial bearing. The load is borne by the entire sleeve.

JAZZY Clamp - sleeve adapters are used for hydraulic pipe connections of steel, mainly in hydraulic and pneumatic applications. JAZZY also offers stainless hydraulic fittings.

23-1.Pipe Adapter

60 degree conical seal transition adapter

The transition joint is usually made of carbon steel with chrome plated surface. Elbows and tee joints are usually brazed, but some of them are forged. In the case of high processing pressure, avoid using transition joints with R-or NPTF threads as they are more difficult to seal and, if tightened too tightly, can often lead to joint breakage.

Flared adapter

Carbon steel flared joints provide tight and safe connections even under harsh installation conditions

The flared joint connection consists of three parts: transition pipe joints, nut and clamping sleeve. At the same time, the flare of steel pipe fittings connected to them is 74 degrees. It is called JIC/SAE 37 degrees and conforms to SAE J514/ISO 8434-2.

Sealing is achieved when the 74 degrees flared end is pressed between two conical surfaces (transition pipe joints and clamping sleeve).

Clamping sleeves prevent nuts from cutting into the pipe and are also used as pipe supports. It prevents the pipe from turning during the fastening nut and automatically guides the flare tube to the correct position relative to the transition joint.

23-2.Pipe Adapter

Flat seal joint

ORFS connectors conform to SAE J1453 and ISO 8434-3. The joint can withstand high pressure up to 63.0 MPa with a safety factor of 1:4.They also resist vibration and system impulses.

The seal between the black steel pipe fittings and the transition joint is achieved by an O-ring, which forms a safe connection. The joint can be disassembled and assembled several times, the only one that needs to be replaced is the O-ring. ORFS joints are very torque resistant compared to other types of steel tube joints. This makes assembly easier, even for untrained personnel. By replacing the clamping sleeve, the joint can be used for metric and British steel pipe fittings.
