What Are the Characteristics of the Moog Hydrostatic Actuators?

The innovative 8-cavity hydrostatic bearing improves the lateral bearing testing capacity and reduces energy consumption

While other actuators are still using the traditional 4-cavity bearing design, Moog have designed the innovative 8-cavity hydrostatic bearing, which can greatly improve the lateral load capacity of the test by hydraulic pressure gauge. Traditional 4-cavity actuators can withstand approximately 5-20% of the lateral load, while Moog's innovative 8-cavity bearing design can withstand approximately 40-60% of the lateral load, significantly increasing your test capability. And these higher side loads can be achieved with smaller oil leaks, reducing fuel consumption and maintenance requirements. In addition, the Moog’s new hydrostatic bearing actuators require less oil source with lower absolute pressure to gauge pressure, resulting in cleaner hydraulic applications than traditional designs.

Better dynamic performance, higher reliability and longer service life

Moog has extensive experience in developing actuators of hydraulic power transmission system for demanding applications and manufacturing high-performance motion control components is their strength. Actuators are the key to high performance testing solutions, and customers have expressed their need for more reliable and high-performance components than are available on the market. The top engineers in Moog are involved in the development of the hydrostatic bearing series actuators combining their knowledge of test applications and many years of actuator experience. This series of actuators is a benchmark for strength and durability test applications. It is necessary to improve the performance level of the test system and meet the increasingly strict environmental requirements, which leads to the need for new building block component configuration. The Moog actuator is the representative of the new generation of products, which has both modular design and stable and efficient performance. The new building blocks are available for a variety of applications such as automatic transmission hydraulic system, single and multiple actuator test systems.

Advanced buffer design improves reliability and security

Moog made a lot of improvements to the traditional design to develop a good buffering system by using the oil pressure tester. The actuator is integrated with advanced design to ensure safety and prevent equipment damage. The static bearing series actuators in hydrostatic drive systems have end buffers at each end to ensure that the actuators slow down before reaching the end of the stroke in both directions.

Improved sealing abrasion resistance prolongs service life and reduces maintenance requirements

The actuator push rod adopts advanced coating, which greatly improves the sealing abrasion resistance, prolongs the service life and reduces the maintenance times. Stainless steel push rod uses special seal and unique coating, showing a variety of performance advantages. The design also provides a cleaner operating environment of hydraulic mechanical transmission, making the laboratory more environmentally friendly.
