The normal operation of the hydrostatic drive systems of agricultural machinery is the fundamental guarantee for the safe operation of the supporting machinery, and the maintenance of the hydraulic system is very important.

1. Prevent impurities from entering the hydraulic system

 

There are many precision parts in the hydraulic power transmission system. If impurities intrude into the gaps of the parts, it will cause strain on the precision parts and blockage of the oil passage, which will endanger the safe operation of the hydraulic system. Common reasons for impurities intruding into the automatic transmission hydraulic system are dirty hydraulic oil, dirty refueling tools, careless refueling and maintenance, and desquamation of hydraulic components.

 

How to prevent impurities from invading the hydraulic system?

 

 

 

(1) When refueling, the hydraulic oil must be filtered and refilled, and the refueling tools should be kept clean. Do not remove the filter at the fuel tank filler opening in order to increase the fueling speed. Fueling personnel should wear clean gloves and work clothes to prevent impurities from falling into the oil.

 

(2) When cleaning, you must use the same brand of hydraulic cleaning oil as the system used, and the best oil temperature is 45-80 degrees Celsius. Use a large flow of cleaning oil to wash away impurities in the system. The hydraulic system should be cleaned more than three times repeatedly. After cleaning, let the oil out of the system when it is hot. Olnly when the hydraulic system is clean, the filter can be replaced and added new oil.

 

(3) When maintaining the hydraulic system, remove the hydraulic oil tank filler cap, filter cap, inspection hole, hydraulic tubing and other parts. When the oil passage of the system is exposed to the outside, dust must be avoided, and the disassembly part must be thoroughly cleaned before opening.

 

For example, when disassembling the filler cap of a hydraulic oil tank, first remove the dirt around the oil tank cap, and after unscrewing the oil tank cap, remove the debris remaining at the joint.

 

If you need to use wiping materials and hammers, use wiping materials that do not remove impurities and a special hammer with rubber attached to the striking surface. Before installing the filter element, clean the dirt at the bottom of the filter housing with wiping materials.

2. Prevent water and air from entering the hydraulic system

 

(1) Prevent water from intruding into the hydraulic system. Excessive moisture in the oil will rust hydraulic components, emulsify the oil, reduce the strength of the lubricating oil film.

 

(2) Prevent air from invading the hydraulic system. Under normal temperature and pressure, hydraulic oil contains air with a volume ratio of 6%-8%. When the pressure drops, the air will free from the oil, and the bubble will burst and the hydraulic components will be cavitation, which will cause noise. A large amount of air entering the oil will aggravate the cavitation phenomenon, which will increase the compressibility of the hydraulic oil and reduce the work efficiency. In addition, the air will oxidize the hydraulic oil and accelerate the deterioration of the oil.

 

3. Choose the right hydraulic oil

 

The hydraulic oil plays the role of transmitting pressure, lubricating, cooling and sealing in the hydraulic power transmission system. Inappropriate selection of hydraulic oil is the main reason for the early failure and durability of hydraulic system.

 

The hydraulic oil should be selected according to the brand specified in the instruction manual. When substitute oil is needed in special circumstances, its performance should be the same as that of the original brand.

 

Different brands of hydraulic oil cannot be mixed to prevent chemical reaction of the hydraulic oil and performance changes. Dark brown, milky white, and odorous hydraulic oil is deteriorating oil and should never be used in the hydrostatic drive systems.
