How Did Parker Hydraulic Joint Succeed?

Parker joint was invented in the 1930s by Ermto, a German engineer in the German factory of Parker Hannifin. Parker Hannifin named the Parker joint in honor of his contribution. Parker joint also known as Parker jacket coupler.

Parker hydraulic joints are divided into universal, high pressure and overflow free connectors, which meet international standards for interchangeability. Parker also offers a variety of sizes, materials and tail-end connections to satisfy customers' different application needs and achieve the right connection. Parker hydraulic quick-change joint is widely used in hydraulic power transmission systems including construction machinery, manufacturing machinery and factory machinery equipment. It is especially suitable for frequent connection and disconnection of hydraulic pipeline due to equipment operation and maintenance. The strong internal structure enables the hydraulic quick release couplings to be used in heavy load construction machinery, such as dump trucks, snowplows, haulage trucks, mining equipment, road machinery and trailers, etc. The application of factory machinery includes hydraulic fluid, chemical and gas pipeline. At the same time, Parker hydraulic quick-change joint, as a kind of flat face quick release couplings is also widely used in paper mills, steel mills and other various plant maintenance equipment and production equipment.

Features of Parker joint

Park sleeve joints are popular because they are easy to assemble (only two wrenches are needed). After nearly 80 years of development, it has maintained the leading position in the technology of clamped pipe joint. Today, Parker couplings are one of the most widely used one piece hydraulic hose fittings in the world. EO pipe connections are designed for metric pipes and have historically been based on the German standards DIN3861, DIN3859 and DIN2353, which have now been replaced by the international standard ISO8434. Parker couplings are known for their small size and high-pressure levels. Parker joints are divided into different hydraulic quick release coupling sizes: low, medium and high-pressure series (LL, L and S series), allowing customers to choose the most economical and space-minimized solution for different applications.

Parker couplings are made of copper and stainless steel, in addition to the most common carbon steel galvanized, to accommodate different fluid or environmental conditions. Parker stainless steel joints are silver-plated and pre-lubricated (15L-42L, 12S-38s), while smaller sizes are wax sealed. This not only effectively eliminates the stainless-steel thread bite phenomenon, but also reduces the assembly tightening torque by 40%. Parker couplings come in more than 50 different forms. Parker couplings with many Parker functions (such as rotary couplings, hydraulic ball valves, check valves, globe valves, pressure test couplings, hydraulic hose couplings etc.) can be used in conjunction with Parker couplings, greatly facilitating the matching of the system and improving the reliability of system sealing.
