Selection of Pressure Reducing Valves

Generally, we need to select the pressure reducing valve according to the highest working pressure of the pneumatic control system. The air source pressure should be 0.1Mpa greater than the maximum working pressure of the pressure reducing valve. When the outlet pressure fluctuation of the pressure reducing valve is required to be small, if the outlet pressure fluctuation is not more than ±0.5% of the maximum working pressure, a precision pressure reducing valve is used. When remote control is required or the diameter is greater than 20 mm, an external pilot-operated pressure reducing valve should be used as much as possible.

 

 

Selection of Relief Valves

Usually, we select the diameter of the overflow valve according to the required overflow. For the relief valve, it is hoped that the valve will exhaust immediately as soon as the pneumatic circuit exceeds the set pressure. Once the pressure is slightly lower than the set pressure, the valve can be closed immediately. In this process from valve opening to closing, the smaller the pressure change in the pneumatic circuit, the better the overflow characteristics. Under normal circumstances, an overflow valve whose set pressure is close to the highest operating pressure should be selected. If the pipe diameter is large (such as 15 mm or more) and operated at a long distance, a pilot-operated relief valve should be used.
