Pneumatic transmission has the following advantages:

Pneumatic transmission will not explode or catch fire when compressed air due to the compression tube fitting. It does not need expensive explosion-proof facilities to use pneumatic transmission in inflammable and explosive places. Pneumatic transmission can be safely and reliably applied in the harsh environments such as inflammable, explosive, dusty, radiation, strong magnetism, vibration and impact.

The economic working pressure of pneumatic drive is low (generally lower than 0.8 MPa), so the output force of pneumatic system is small. The pneumatic transmission is larger in size than the hydraulic device under the same output force. And the output force is limited to between 20kN and 30kN.
Pneumatic devices emit air loudly. This problem has now been largely solved by the development of sound-absorbing materials and silencers. However, a muffler needs to be added.
