The research object of hydraulic and pneumatic transmission

Hydraulic and pneumatic transmission are both pressure fluids (pressure oil or compressed air) as the working medium, to achieve a variety of mechanical transmission and automatic control of the transmission form.

The transmission power of hydraulic transmission is big, and the movement is stable, but because the liquid viscosity is large, in the flow process resistance loss is large, so it is not suitable for long-distance transmission and control; as for pneumatic transmission, because of the large air compressibility and low working pressure (usually under 1.0 MPa), so the transmission power is not big, with smooth movement and hydraulic transmission. Besides, the viscosity of air is small, with small resistance and fast pressure transmission speed in the process of delivery, so pneumatic transmission can be used for long distance transmission and control.

Advantages

Compared with hydraulic transmission, pneumatic transmission has the following advantages:

(1) Air can be drawn from the atmosphere endlessly and without medium costs or supply difficulties. It is very convenient for us to release the used gas directly into the atmosphere, by using air compressor hose clamp. Air leakage will not seriously affect the work, nor will it pollute the environment.

(2) The viscosity of air is very small, its resistance loss in the pipeline is far less than the resistance loss of the hydraulic transmission system, suitable for remote transmission and control.

(3) The working pressure of pneumatic transmission is low, and the material and manufacturing precision of its components are low too.

(4) Pneumatic transmission equipment is easy to maintain and safe to use. The oil-free pneumatic control system is especially suitable for the production of radio components, as well as food and medicine.

(5) Pneumatic components can be used according to different forged pipe fittings, so that the components can work in the harsh environment (strong vibration, strong impact, strong corrosion and strong radiation, etc.).

Disadvantages

Compared with electrical and hydraulic transmission, pneumatic transmission has the following disadvantages:

(1) the air pressure drive signal transmission speed is limited in the speed of sound (340 m/s) range, so its working frequency and speed of response is much less than the electronic device, and its signal will produce larger distortion and delay, it's not easy to form more complex circuit, but the disadvantages of industrial production process does not cause difficulties.

(2) The compressibility of air is much greater than that of hydraulic oil, so pneumatic transmission is not as good as hydraulic transmission in terms of response ability and stability of working speed.

(3) The output of pneumatic drive system is small, and its transmission efficiency is low.
